Born in 1888 in ruralVirginia, "Red" Overstreet received little formal education and lateremployed tutors to help him. He stared ou as a grocery clerk inBluefield, West Virginia. At the time of his retirement, he waspresident of the National Electric Coil Division, McGraw-Edison Company,in Columbus.
