Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 3, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :
- Kincaid, James - born 3/10/1763 in Albemarle County, virginia; entered service with elder brother Joseph in 1776 when they resided with father in Castlewood Settlement on Clinch River abt. 25 miles north of Abingdon, Virginia; soldier & brother Joseph moved in 1779 with father to Kentucky Territory where James & Joseph entered service; Joseph was Killed in Action 8/19/1782 in Battle of Blue Licks; soldier entered service 1787 in Mercer County, Kentucky, against Indians & again in 1791; moved in Boone County, Missouri, after resided for 50 years in Kentucky, thence to Lafayette County, Missouri, where granted Pension in 1833; died 7/8/1841; query letter in file from descendant Samuel S. Parkes age 95, Richmond, Kentucky. F-S16907, R1495.
