Note that the Find-a-Grave Memorial# 17631829 has a different location for birth than is posted on this Jackson website. This site has used his birth record from the WVCulture site. As of April 2012 this record does not appear to be available from the search engine but is available using this URL: http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=1825207&Type=Birth. One must scroll right to 2nd page to see this record. I would like to have been able to compare Wirt County records to this, but Wirt records are not available this early. I do note that James would have been only three years old when living in Grant, Jackson County on the 1870 census.

It looks like the last two children were born in Missouri; the rest in 'Virginia' but should have been in West Virginia.
