Will Transcript

Will of James Hines Senr.
In the Name of God Amen, I James Hines Senr. of the County of Greene and State of Georgia being sick and weak of body, but of perfect mind and Memory do Constitute ordain and appoint this present Instrument of Writing my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following (to wit)
Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Hines three negroes that is to say Patty, Peter & little yellow Tom, I give the same to him and his lawful heirs after him
I give unto my son James Hines the following negroes Jiles, Lucy, Hannah, little Dick, little Bob, Big Dick & African Tom. I give the above mentioned Negroes to him the said James and his Legitimate issue.
To my son Elias Hines I lend Big Bob, Winney, Jenny and Anthony, he the said Elias to have the free use of the above mentioned Negroes, but as to touching the Right of them, I give the same to his Legitimate Children after him.
Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Williamson, Silvey and her child Will; Phillis and her three Children & Judy. I give the same to the said Elizabeth and her Legitimate Issue after her, the Tract of Land whereon I now live, I have unto my Wife during her life and at her Death the same to be Divided between my two sons James & Elias, the same being by Survey three hundred & Eleven Acres. Also my other tract of land lying in Wilkes County on the Beaver dam Creek is to be Equally Divided between my two sons James and Elias the same containing two hundred Acres unto my son John Hines I Give one feather bed and furniture, the mare known by the name of Nel and two youngest Colts to be Divided between my four Children (to wit) John, James, Elias & Elizabeth, also my Still between them all to be Divided.
The remainder and residue of my Estate Consisting of Household & Kitchin furniture, Stock & the Crop of Corn, Cotton & Tobacco I leave unto my Wife during her life and at her Death the same to be Divided Equally among my four Children above named or their Legitamate Offspring as the case may be.
And I do hereby Nominate and Appoint George Tuggle and my son James Hines Executors of this my last Will and Testament.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this 26th day of August 1807.
