p. 24 (citing p. 43-45). 12 APR 1703. Bryon Stott, Sr. of St. Mary's White Chapel parish, Lancaster County, gent., to John Willcox of the same, land surveyed by Edwin Conway in March last adjoining Mr. Tomlin. Witnessed by John Stott, and James Hill.

p. 25 (citing p. 46). Not dated. James Hill, John Stott and Brian Stott witness to power of attorney from Bryan Stott, Sr. of Lancaster County to "my loving brother" Stephen Tomlin [brother-in-law, half brother or step brother] to acknowledge 70 acres of land laid out by by Mr. Edwin Conway and John Willcocks of Lancaster "to him and heirs forever." Recorded 20 MAY 1703.

p. 70 (citing p. 133) 20 SEP 1705. James Hill records for his three children vizt SARAH CULLIN, ELIZABETH CULLIN and KATHERINE CULLIN one black mare with a blase on her face, branded on the buttock with I C, with all her future increase to be equally divided between them. Recorded 20 SEP 1705. These were probably children by his wife's first husband. ____________________________

p. 60 (citing p. 118). 13 JUN 1705. Administration of the estate of James Cullin, dec'd, granted to James Hill and Elizabeth his wife, late widow and relict. Mr. Thomas White, Mr. Thomas Carpenter, Mr. William Rogers, Mr. Bryon Stott and Mr. Thomas Young, any four of them, to appraise the estate. Mr. John Willock and Mr. John Stott securites to the administration bond.

p. 68 (citing p. 126). 12 SEP 1705. James Hill and his wife, administrators of the estate of James Cullins, exhibited an inventorie of the decedents estate.

p. 88-89 (citing p. 141b-142a). 13 MAR 1705/06. James Hill on the jury in the suit of William Fox against Samuel Steele, in an action of trespass in which Steele was accused of "entering with force of arms" Fox's land on Morattico Creek and stealing £40 sterling of timber which he did "cut down and carry away" and "did convert and soyle then and there did break up and the profitts from them arrising him, the plaintiff, did doe to his great damage and against the peace, etc.". Steele pleaded not guilty and put himself on trial. Mr. Edwin Conway, surveyor, called along with the jury to lay out the lands, containing 500 acres first granted to John Sharp on 4 SEP 1655. The jury found in favor of the plaintiff for 5 shillings in damages. Others on the jury included John Stott,Bryon Sott, James Stott, and John Willcocks. James Hill signes by marke "I" with a cross hatch through the center. _________________________
