Facts and Events
This individual has the following other parents in the Ancestral File: John HIATT AFN:3MJR-C4 and Margaret STEPHENS AFN:8S50-J6 BIOGRAPHY: HIATT and HIETT Genealogy by William Percy JOHNSON: Quoted from the 1902 pamphlet, the PALMER CENTENNIAL": James HIETT had 10 children (not counting three who died in infancy - editor). Mary, Timothy, and Amy lived in Palmer Township, Washington County, OHIO. The others live near and on the HIETT farm, which is now valuable with oil, but in the hands of strangers. This HIETT possession was some twenty miles from Wesley (now Palmer), OH where the GARDS settled, the HIETT farm being on the Virginia side of the river. (R80) HISTORY: From a letter by Nellie A GARD dated 25 Oct 1990 - I have the record of the children with dates of birth of James and Lucretia (PUGH) HIETT in the handwriting of David GARD. Lucretia is called Lucy in the bible record, and the bible birth date agrees with our record of Lucretia. Also in Hampshire County deeds her name is spelled both ways, as wife of James HIETT. Our records all spell the name HIETT. Alias:<ALIA> /Hiett/ Some sources list his birth on February 25, 1751. |
