"James Harvey was about twenty-five years of age when he came to Henry county in February, 1820, and in the following October he returned to Wayne county and was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Canaday. She was born in Tennessee, but was brought by her parents to Wayne county, Indiana, when but thirteen years old, and was married when twenty-four years old. James Harvey's farm consisted of eighty acres, but he entered more land and added to it by purchase until he eventually became the owner of fifteen hundred acres, including the land formerly owned by his brother Absolom."
