JAMES5 HALSTEAD (1726—l786; James4) b. on Long Island; m. 1751, 2nd. about 1765 Elizabeth Teed. He was a Revolutionary soldier. Suspected of Tory activities, he was before the Albany Co., N. Y. safety committee on several occasions, was confined once for a short time, and discharged from military duty.
