OBITUARY FROM BURLINGTON TIMES-NEWS: J. Cline Graves BURLINGTON — Mr. J. Cline Graves, 81, of 2629 Jacobs Trail, Burlington, died at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Pearl Carter Graves, who survives, and the son of Mr. Paul McDowell Graves (Paul is also an Isley family member) and Mrs.. Novella Isley Graves, both deceased. He was a former farmer and hosiery worker and was employed at Kayser-Roth in Alamance for 42 years. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Ms. Glenda Gayle Sizemore of Julian; two sons, Mr. J. Von Graves, and Mr. Rudy M. Graves, both of Burlington; a sister, Ms. Gladys Graves Loy of Burlington; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Miss Christine Graves and Mrs.. Faye Graves Coble. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Friendship United Methodist Church by the Rev. Alvin Horne. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 Silver Cedar Court, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27515-2636, or to Friendship United Methodist Church. References
