James was a blacksmith, sheep farmer, and also rented out partof "The Lodge" to British Gentry for hunting. They huntedpheasant and deer. At one end of the lodge there is a stableand the other end is a two story with fireplaces on both floors.The middle of the house was for family with 2 bedrooms on the2nd floor and one on the 1st floor. Built in bed was in theliving area for the parents. There were rock floors, and athatched roof in additon to stucco walls. The stucco walls werewhitewashed. They cut peat for burning in the fireplace.Mountains nearby are call Derryvaagh (?) mountains. A streamruns through the property and there are beautiful waterfalls upthe stream. References
