James Thomas Fitchpatrick
James Thomas Fitchpatrick was born in Dade County, Missouri, September 1, 1861 and died at his home in Jasper County, January 29, 1932, after many years of patient suffering, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 29 days.
He was united in marriage to Eva Nora Barker, on February 8, 1888. To this union were born five children, two of whom, Edith and Pearl, preceded him in death. Those remaining to mourn his departure are his wife, Eva Fitchpatrick, one son Earl Morgan Fitchpatrick, at home and two daughters Mrs. Rosa Rhoades of Irs, Iowa and Mrs. Jewel McGinnis of Farrar, Iowa. Three brothers, John of Lockwood, Will of Greenfield and Charlie of Liberal. Two sisters Mrs. Lettie Farmer of Jerico Springs and Mrs. Minta Collins of Santa Monica, California, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was converted with the Baptist church and later united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He remained true in the faith of Christ, and read his Bible daily to the very last.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, at two o'clock from the Phillips funeral home, in Golden City, Missouri, conducted by Rev. O. Z. Palmer of Lockwood, in the presence of a large congregation of relatives and friends. His body was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
