James D. Cowan

Services for James D. Cowan, 78, of 340 Bryant St., who died at 1:30 am Sunday at Mercy Medical Center, will be at 10 am Wednesday at St. Columbkille's Church.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 9 pm Tuesday at the Gene Siegert & Son Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be said at 8 pm Tuesday.

Mr. Cowan was born in Jackson County, Iowa, and was a member of St. Columbkille's Senior Citizens Association.

He was employed at John Deere Dubuque Works until his retirement in 1963.

Surviving are his wife, the former Genevieve Anglin; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Clare) Kutsch of Dubuque; two sons, Arnold and Leo, both of Dubuque; nine grandchildren and five sisters, Sister Mary Frances Clare OSF, Sister Mary Kevin OSF, and Emma, Kathryn and Myrtle Cowan, all of Dubuque.
