- To son John, 100-acre tract with improvements known as Fork plantation; road wagon and iron grey stud horse; to son James, tract where I live, not surveyed but laid out to him, bounded by Carter and Haines; 106-acre tract in Frederick Co. on branch of Cedar Creek; grey mare Pegg and her colt; my old desk, hair trunk, one case bottles silver watch, wearing apparel; to son Charles, all remainder of plantation in this county with improvements, any remaining surplus land, bay horse Pompey, one case bottles, he to pay from legacies for covering barn 30' long x 20' wide, new desk; to daughter Betsy McPherson, 150 acres in Shenandoah Co., leather trunk; to daughter Jane Gosney, 150 acres in Shenandoah Co., negro wench Mary and her child Will, riding horse Wallis, one case bottles. To Charles McPherson, grey mare Grey and her colt. to granddaughter Eady Catlett, debt of £21 due me from estate of my son Peter Catlett, dec'd, with interest from 1774, lent to Peter in gold and silver coin. Lot and houses in Front Royal to be disposed of and money equally divided among five children; feather bed to each of five children; negroes given to children in their possession to be kept as they are.
