Yeoman of Bristol. He owned land at St Philip and Jacob, known as the "in and out parish" because part of it was in Bristol and part of it was in Gloucestershire, the county that surrounds much of the city. James made a will in which he left everything to his children, Judith, Elizabeth, Giles and James. Don't know when James was born, although the date is beleived to be 1703 and that his parents were George and Susannah, of The Grange, Bitton in Gloucestershire (George, too, was a yeoman).
