Mr. J. A. Burgan of Hudson had a paralytic stroke on Monday and is in a very critical condition.

DIED.
At the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. E. R. Keplinger of Hudson, on Wednesday morning August 12, 1885, or paralysis Mr. James A. Burgan, aged 67 years, 1 month and 25 days.
The deceased was born in Virginia June 18th, 1818, and came to Minnesota in 1855, remaining in the Southern part of the state until 1867, when he came to Douglas county, where he has resided ever since, highly respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity, having joined in Indiana about forty years ago, and becoming a member of Constellation Lodge No. 81, of this place March 12, 1879. Three sons and three daughters, all married, are left to mourn his loss, as follows: John L. and W. P. Burgan, Mrs. E. R. Keplinger and Mrs. G. J. Strang, of Hudson this county. C. D. Burgan of St. Cloud, and Mrs. John Strangeway of Olmsted county.
The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place last Thursday afternoon, Rev. J. B. Ogle preaching the sermon at the house, when the remains were interred with Masonic honors at Union Lake cemetery.
