From the Memo of Captain Isaac Brittain of North Carolina, the following information was obtained:

James Brittain emigrated from Wales about the beginning of the 18th Century. He was a lineal decendant of Sir William Brittain and a colateral decendant of William the Norman.

While the Isle of Brittain was invaded by the Angelo and Saxons under William the Norman, Sir William Brittain was driven to the mountains of Wales.
