James Von "Big Jim" Beckley, 67, passed away Friday, December 04, 2009 in his Middletown home.
Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Frederick H. and Clara A. (Loughner) Beckley.
Big Jim served for four years in the U.S. Marines.
He retired from Hershey Medical Center where he was employed in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Maintenance.
Big Jim was a Life member of Mount Joy Veterans of Foreign Wars, Middletown Moose, Middletown American Legion, Middletown Anglers & Hunters, and Middletown Rescue.
He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Big Jim was preceded in death by his wife: June (Haas) Beckley in March 2005.
He is survived by his daughters: Tracy (Robert) Schaeffer of Mount Joy and Kimberly (Samuel) Jacoby of Marietta; his step-daughters: Cindy A. (Keith) Kuehl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Karen S. (Ray) Zeiters of Middletown; his step-sons: Robert K. Leath of West Middlesex and David M. Leath of Middletown; his nineteen grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; his sister: Cheryl (Tom) Gwinn; and, his brother: Terry (Carol) Beckley.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, December 09, 2009 in Miller / Sekely Funeral Services.
Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
