James Bayless, 86, Carbondale, died Tuesday, Sept 3, 2002, at his home.
He was born April 3, 1916, in Shawnee County, the son of James A and Eva Gross Bayless. He lived most of his life in the Carbondale area.
Mr Bayless was a farmer, and he had worked for Zinn Dairy in Topeka. He retired from Topeka Foundry and Iron Works after many years of service.
He married Audry M Gregg on Dec 16, 1936. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, James D Bayless, Wellsville, Larry G Bayless, Rantoul, and Donald W Bayless, Yulee, Fla.; three daughters, Connie E Perry and Bonnie M Sisco, both of Carbondale, and Nina J Rutledge, Lawton, Oklahoma; 27 grandchildren; 51 hreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept 6 at Scranton Covenant Church in Scranton. Burial was in Shawnee Center Cemetery in Wakarusa.
Carey Funeral Home in Burlingame was in charge of arrangements.
