John G. Bayless, 58, 8625 S.W. 53rd,m died Monday at a Topeka hospital. He was born Oct. 20, 1923 at Carbondale, and had lived in the area all his life. He had been employed in the sign shop of the Kansas Dept. of Transportation more than 27 years. Mr. Bayless was a member of the Auburn Lion's Club, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Masonic Lodge No. 32, AF&AM, at Auburn.
He married Joan Priddy Jan. 20, 1951, at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jim Bayless, 425 E. 35th St. Terrace and Gary Bayless, Auburn:two brothers, George Bayless, Cassody, and James Bayless, Carbondale: three sisters, Mrs Bertha Redmond, 1801 Chandler, Mrs. Bessie Thomas, Topeka and Mrs. Wyoma Horner, Spokane, Wash: and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer funeral Home. Burial will be at Auburn Cemetery, Auburn. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn Lion Club building fund in care of the Security State Bank, Auburn.
