Mariage notice from Middletown Argus, September 27, 1897 HYMNEAL Baker--Pierson The marriage of Miss Emma M. Pierson, eldest daughter of Newton B. Pierson, of 24 Prince street, and James C. Baker, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Baker, of near Ellenville, took place at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon, at the residence of the bride. Her pastor, Dr. William A. Robinson, of the First Congregational Church, officiated. The bridesmaid was Miss Bessie E. Baker, of Bloomingburgh, sister of the groom, and the groomsman was William McC. Pierson, brother of the bride. The bride was charming in a traveling dress of brown mixed goods with hat to match. The bridesmaid wore a dress of similar color. The groom, who is employed by the Middletown-Goshen Traction Company, has been a resident of this city for eight years. Mr. and Mrs. Baker left on the 4:20 train on the O. and W. for a short wedding tour to New York and Albany. On their return they will reside with the bride's father for the present.
