After Clarence was born, Inez seperated from James William Allen and they went their seperate ways. It is believed that Inez went to Jacksonville, Florida.

James worked at the ship yards in Jacksonville Florida. After his divorce from Inex, it is assumed that he lived with a "common law" wife for many years. No one seems to remember her name.
