Edward Ray was probably born in Nassau, Florida but it is possible that he was born in Jacksonville, Florida.

Edward Ray Allen is buried in Barrancas National Cemetary in Pensacola Florida. He was divorced from Hasel in 1954 in Ocala Florida. Due to cancer, he lost an eye and wore an eye patch for as long as I knew him.

When he got sick in old age, he was taken to Panama City Florida where he stayed with Robert Allen Colson until his death. Robert Allen Colson is (was) Aunt Annie Lee's son.

Ray worked for the Greyhound Bus Line out of Ocala Florida after his stint in the service. I believe he lived in Anthony, FL at that time. During his work with the bus line, it is told that he was involved in an accident in which a woman was killed. She evidently drove her car into the path of the oncoming bus. Ray hurt his knee and had a bruise on his head. He told my dad that one of the tires on the bus was pushed back 9 inches due to the volacity of the impact.
