James Frederick Ahlman, 94 of Painesville, died April 11, 2012, at Starkey Place Assisted Living in Painesville. He was born April 19, 1917, in Cleveland, the son of Clarence James Ahlman and Oriole Sprackling. His wife, his wife, Ann (Neelsen) AHLMAN born Feb 19, 1921 in IL, died May 7, 1996 in Lake County Memorial Hosp-East, Painesville at age 75, her mother's maiden name, SWAN. Both were buried in Mentor Cemetery.
James was a member of Painesville United Methodist Church, a former member of Masonic Lodges in Santa Paula, Calif., and Rymer Lodge in Cleveland, current member of Temple Lodge 28 F&AM in Painesville, a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan, enjoyed golfing, playing Bridge and listening to Big Band Music, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Ahlman retired in 1983 from Sears in California. He had resided in California from 1964 to 1986.

* William C. AHLMAN died June 17, 1957 in Mentor, Lake county, Ohio at age 46.
* Jean and John Boest TAGARTY lived in San Clemente, California and after John died in 1985 Jean married again. Her name was Jean RICHMOND when she died a widow Nov. 7, 2003 at a nursing home in Chardon, Ohio at age 88.
* Robert S. AHLMAN born May 22, 1909 in OH, died May 1987. His wife, Marybelle, born March 5, 1907, died Feb 11, 1981- both of Wading River, Suffolk co., NY.
* John D. AHLMAN died Feb. 1996 in Sun City, Maricopa co., Arizona.
* Richard T. AHLMAN (Marjorie's twin brother) born March 19, 1923 in Ohio, died Feb. 18, 2001 in San Clemente, Orange county, California at age 77.
* Mrs. Donald (Marjorie) COLE born March 19, 1923 in Ohio was living in March 1913 at age 90 in Wesleyan Village retirement community, Elyria, Ohio.
JAMES' MEMORIAL SERVICE was Tuesday at Painesville United Methodist Church, 71 N. Park Place, Painesville, the Rev. Gerald D. Kalb officiating, arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., opposite Lake Erie College, Painesville. Temple Lodge 28 F&AM conducted Masonic services Monday at the funeral home. Burial was in Mentor Cemetery.
