JAKOB first migrated to America as youth of 21. He settled in Massillon, Ohio. He worked in a marble shop.

JAKOB'S first home in the Urbana area was a log cabin. He was listed as one of the 18 (or 21?) founders of St. Peter's Church. His farm was located one mile west of Urbana, Indiana, and one mile north.

Someone had compiled a "history" of his family and descendants, at an unknown date. Apparently this "history" was rewritten by Dorothy (Hawkins) LAUER in 1952. A few copies of the 5 page, typewritten "history" exist, and this compiler has a copy.
