James Drysdale, son of Alexander Drysdale of Lancashire married Catherine Cavanagh on 9 Oct 1840. [England, Select Marriages 1538-1973]. There is another James Drysdale that married Sarah Pugh in Lancashire that should not be confused with this James.

James Drydale may have died prior to 1850 as his wife Catherine is listed in the 1850 U.S. Census in New York with their four children without him.
