About Alexander Drysdale

Alexander Drysdale was born about 1801 in England. He was listed as living on Upper Pitt Street in the borough of Liverpool in Lancashire, England in 1832 through 1840, all of those listings identified his occupation as a "Timber Merchant". The 1841 England Census shows Alexander Drysdale, age 40, Timber Merchant, his wife "Ann" [listed as 'Jane" in other records], son William age 10, son Donald age 5, daughter Margaret age 4, son Colin age 2 and son Douglas age 3 months.

He appears to have moved to Jordan Street by 1843, 26 Great George Square in Liverpool during 1846-1849 according to the Electoral Registers and may have moved to 78 Windsor Street by 1858 and Clevedon Street by about 1860.
