Wise in 1850 census, Weise in 1860!
WS#6: Made last Will in Buda, in 1907, 3 Jul. Have copy. Jacob and Minnie both signed as Weise! 1877 Concord Twp, Bureau Co, Voters and Taxpayers list has Jacob E. Weise, Buda, laborer, Dem, born NJ, one child. 1910 census has Jacob and Minnie, ages 64 and 50, own income, Union Army veteran. Married 4 years, Minnie no children.
From Weise Genealogy, per David Weise letter, 19 Mar 1996: "Jacob E. Weise, who was adopted by John Trimmer Weise, who raised him and gave him the name Weise."
