This Jacob is shown in the 1938 Utterback book as being the son of Harmon and grandson of John and great-grandson of Herman. Since Herman's son, John, is not known to have married, this leaves Jacob out in the cold. Dr. Holtzclaw's research indicates that Henry is really the son of John Henry the elder and Agnes Brumback. I have gone with this revised line based on Dr. Holtzclaw's meticulous work as well as his reputation for accuracy. Proof is still to be obtained. Parents: Johann Henrich\Henry Otterbach\Utterback (the elder) and Agnes Brumback. He was married to Anna Elizabeth Martin in 1766 in US, Virginia, Culpeper County, Chester's Gap. Children were: Rev. Martin Utterback, Nimrod Utterback I, Charles Utterback, Lydia Utterback, Mary "Polly" Utterback , Dinah Utterback, Susannah Utterback, Elijah Utterback, Henry Utterback, Benjamin Utterback Sr..
