The following geneolgy and notes are in the words of Austin Seay, taken from a register kept by him:

"My paternal grandfather, Jacob Seay died Feb. 10, 1780. At the time of his death he considered himself about one hundred years old. His first wife's name was Wingo. She died when my father was only a few days old. His second wife's maiden name was Smith. She had Indian blood in her veins. My grandfather and his first wife's ancestors were English."
