JACOB PEAK was born on January 1, 1769 in Henry County, Virginia. He later moved to Tennessee.

Jacob was a member of the East Fork Poplar Creek Baptist Church. He gave three acres for the church. He served as a messenger for the church to the Hiwassee United Baptist Association in 1839, 1842 and 1853. (Source: Minutes of the Hiwassee United Baptist Association, The Early Years, 1823 - 1869)

Jacob married MARY JANE JONES, the daughter of THOMAS JONES and MARY, on January 14, 1789 in Franklin County, Tennessee.

In 1791 Jacob paid personal property tax in Franklin County, Virginia.

In 1792 Jacob paid personal property tax in Montgomery County, Virginia.

In 1795 Jacob paid personal property tax in Montgomery County, Virginia.

Between 1795 and 1796, Jacob came from Virginia to near Robertsville, Tennessee on "one of the finest farms in the country". He held over 1000 acres, now the site of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The foundations of buildings were still visible in the 1950's.

In 1796 Jacob paid personal property tax in Knox County, Tennessee.

In 1805 Jacob paid personal property tax in Anderson County, Tennessee. He owned 100 acres of land.

On September 6, 1805, Jacob Peak purchased 50 Acres on the East Fork of Poplar Creek from Edward Hawkins for $200.

The 1830 census shows Jacob living with his family in Anderson County, Tennessee.

On October 28, 1830, Jacob Peak purchased 80 Acres in W 1/2 SW Section 25, Township 15 N, Range 13 W 3 Anderson County, Tennessee.

The 1840 census shows Jacob living with his family in Anderson County, Tennessee.

The 1850 census shows Jacob living with his family in Anderson County, Tennessee.

Jacob died on October 15, 1853 in Anderson County, Tennessee. He is buried in Peak Cemetery, Anderson County, Tennessee.
