- ↑ "Jacob F. Herbster, aged nearly 84 years, died this morning at 1 o'clockat his home, 1703 South Michigan street, following an illness of threeyears with Bright's disease. Mr. Herbster was born July 7, 1829, inWashington twp., Stark Co., Ohio. In June 1854 he married Rebecca Clark,of Louisville, O. In 1855 Mr. and Mrs. Herbster moved to Indiana andsettled on a farm in Union township, in this county. In 1881, they movedto this city, where they have since resided. Besides his wife, two sons,Levy Herbster and Edgar F. Herbster, both of South Bend survive him. Onebrother, John Herbster, and three sisters, Mrs. David Krieger, Mrs.Lautzenheiser, Mrs. Aaron Hoffman, and one half brother, Josiah Lutz,all of Louisville, O, survivie him. The funeral will be held Sundayafternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence. Burial will be in Riverviewcemetery. The remains can be viewed from 10 to 2 o'clock Sunday."
