    I. Jacob Kirk Gilcrest; Born January 28th, 1832, in Wayne County, Ohio. Educated at Hiram College, Hiram, Ohio. Moved to Iowa in 1856 and started a lumber business with his brother William H. He married Julia S. Williams January 7th, 1858. Julia was born in Summit County, Ohio, August 2d, 1833. She died September 8th, 1913, in Des Moines, Iowa. Jacob Kirk is still an interested member of the Gilcrest Lumber Company at the age of eighty-nine, and has been doing business in Des Moines for sixty-five years. The most of his family still reside in Des Moines. [next handwritten] Died Nov: 27: 1925, nearly 94."
