Jacob⁵ Gilbert (Josiah,⁴ John,³ Thomas, ² Thomas¹), born May 21, 1747; died Aug. 31, 1831; married Jan. 1, 1770, Mary Northrup, born Apr. 28, 1749; died Mar. 1, 1830; daughter of Nathan and Eunice Northrup. Jacob Gilbert lived at South Salem, N. Y. He was a Revolutionary soldier; perhaps owner of the 'Major Andre house.' He and his wife were members of the Church of Christ at Salem, N. Y., July 6, 1794."
