    When Jacob Fitterling was born on January 25, 1799, in Cumru, Pennsylvania, his father, Johannes, was 31 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 20. He married Catherine Schonauer on April 27, 1829. They had three children during their marriage. He died on March 10, 1838, in his hometown at the age of 39.
