Information comes from Lillian's family tree. "Jacob Bruckhart (Brookhart) was in York Co. militia lists 1777-1783, and in the tax lists of Hellam Twp. as published in PA. ARCHIVES, Third Series, in 1779-1783. They sold land there in 1785 and moved to Frankfort, Hampshire Co., Va. The Va. legislative act establishing the town in 1787 named Jacob Brookhart one of the trustees. In 1802 they moved to Jefferson Co., Ky. where he died in 1806 after being an invalid for many years."
