    Jacob Bloom was born in Hunterdon County, NJ where he resided his entire life. He taught in the common schools for many years, and was familiarly known as Teacher Bloom. When more than 40 years old he spent a short time in Lafayette College in Easton PA as the oldest matriculate to perfect himself in literary studies in surveying. In later life he was a surveyor and conveyance. Ceasing to teach, he engaged in farming at Little York for many years before his death. He was highly respected and esteemed...
