    "40. Jabez Stratton4 (John,3 John</sup>2</sup>, Samuel1) was born March 28, 1701, … lived in Watertown for about eleven years after their marriage and then removed to Sherburne (now Sherborn), Mass., in 1736-7. His name appears often on the records. In Watertown he owned several lots of land, and was 'tithing-man' for several years. In Sherborn, he was one of the substantial men of the town. He made his will October 26, 1764, and it was proved March 29, 1774. In it he mentions only wife Tibitha, and sons Abijah, Nathan and Elias, with Benjamin Kendall as administrator, but in the settlement of the estate Jonas Greenwood receives a portion also."
