"… Elias died in Athol on 11 Feb. 1806 (VR p. 222). The will of Elias Stratton of Athol, dated 17 July 1800 and proved 21 Oct. 1806, names his wife Joanna Stratton; oldest son Ebenezer Stratton; sons Elias, Jonathan, Joseph, and Jabez Stratton; oldest daughter Sarah Stratton; and daughters Hannah Stone and Molly Leason. The inventory is dated 23 May 1806. (Worcester Co. PR #57222 old series). This clearly refutes the death in 1796 assigned to Elias in NEHGR 95:80 (necrology of a member)."
