BIOGRAPHY: Jurgine Smedsrud wedding story- Severt knew nothing about it. A man came out to the field and told him to come in for a while. He then found out he was a groomsman in the wedding.

I take (the picture of those two and scrutinize it time after time, but in no way can I recognize them. However, I must believe you. They look good, both of them. It looks as if they eat in America but have Norways air. From Mary, your oldest sister, have I also received a photograph. I wrote to her and sent her my thanks for it. But I have not heard from her since. But now my dear Jurgine, maybe we can begin to write to each other occasionally. Even if we do hot know each other we can nevertheless do that. You were very kind that you wanted to write to me. There is a little thing which I have been planning to send to you Mother. But it seems as if my letters do not reach their destination. Now I will be waiting to hear if this one comes through. I understand that you would rather write the English language. but you must write as much Norwegian as you can. I understand a little English. but it is very little. You must write to me at once. If I could only get to talk with you then you could teach me English.
