    Israel Loughner, of Greensburg, an employee of the Pennsylvania railroad company and an ex-member of Company I, Eleventh regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers, was walking on the track near the tunnel, when a west bound freight coming up behind struck him and hurled him about ten feet in the air, breaking both legs and crushing in his head. He was picked up and taken into the depot, where he soon died from the effects of his injuries.
