Facts and Events
NOTE: ALL THE"EXPERTS' ATTRIBUTE ISAIAH NEWMAN PHELPS TO EBENEZER AND LYMA STORY. I HAVE NO BASIS OTHER THAN THE NAME AND THE FACT THAT HE WOULD PROBABLY BE THE FIRST BOY BORN--NAMED FOR HIS FATHER AND HIS MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME AS A MIDDLE NAME-- TO ME IT MAKES INFINITELY MORE SENSE THIS WAY! The following documents the Ebenezer parents for "AN Isaiah Phelps"--not necessarily Newman. It is highly possible that there were 2 Isaiahs born about 1811 to the brothers and that the EXACT date of Newman's birth is incorrect: Extracted birth records from LDS: ISAIAH PHELPS Male Event(s): Birth: 26 FEB 1811 Goshen Twp, Sullivan, New Hampshire Parents: Father: EBENEZER PHELPS Mother: LIMA Messages: Extraction of birth information from a statewide index for New Hampshire. The actual town records may contain more details. Use the Family History Library Catalog to find the call numbers for town records. A desc. indicates that Isaiah is the son of Barnabas and the brother of Ebenezer. Since Ebenezer's brother Isaiah married Clarissa NEWMAN,is it possible that this Isaiah Newman is their son??
