Cramer Isabella (Haag), 73, died on her birthday Monday (d. 1-15-1940) at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E. Foote, four miles north of Garrett. She was in excellent health until 5 days before her death when she was stricken with apoplexy. She became unconscious Thursday noon. She was born in Berks County, Pa., January 15, 1867. The family came to DeKalb County when she was 3 years old, locating in Keyser Twp. Four years later they moved to Noble County near Ari. Isabella Haag and John Cramer of near Swan were married December 21, 1890, and they moved out of LaOtto south. Three years later they bought a farm one and one-half miles south of Altona where they lived 30 years. Mr. Cramer died there May 16, 1924, and since that time his widow had been living with her children. She was a twin and was also the mother of twin boys, one deceased at 10 months. Surviving are two sons, Paris, a twin of Mishawaka, and Franklin of Churubusco; two daughters, Mrs. Homer Shellenberger on the home place near Altona, and Mrs. Elmer Foote near Auburn; and ten grandchildren. A brother, Eli Haag of north of town, died last month. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Altona. Funeral was at the Christian Union Church Wednesday. Burial, Embry Cemetery. * 1940
