Isobella DENNISTOUN was b. 10sep1787 at Glasgow (IGI). Isabella (?Hamilton Dundas) Dennistoun (d. 15jan1861) married Colin CAMPBELL 6aug1806 (Latter day saints, stirnet). Colin was “of Jura” (Burkes Commoners, genforum, Macauley). Colin Campbell of Jura and Craignish (8nov1772-6sep1848) was son of Archibald Campbell of Jura (b. 1744) and Sarah Campbell of St. Germains and Tofts (d. 1816) (Burke's Landed Gentry, 1952, web). Isabella Bryson Dennistoun, daughter of James Dennistoun of Dennistoun, married Gabriel Hamilton Dundas 1804 (Genealogical and heraldic dictionary of landed gentry,1862); thus Isobella (b. 1787) probably did not have middle name Hamilton Dundas. However the son of Colin Campbell JP and DL, of Jura, and Isabella Hamilton, daughter of Richard Dennistoun of Kelvin Grove, features in Walford’s County Families, 1864, and the children of Colin Campbell and Isabella Hamilton Dennistoun were born bet 1808 and 1833, one of whom was Dundas Campbell (IGI).
