From the Burch source book:, pg 17: "JOHN TIMMONS came to the U. S. and settled in Marion county, S. C., Timmonsville, S. C. was named after this family. The following is taken from a letter written to W. S. Jackson by his mother Roxanna Timmons Jackson; (John Timmons came to U. S. settled in Marion county, had five sons, William, John, Samuel, Simeon and Isaac; William, the oldest married twice, two boys, John Morgan and William he gave his mother and mooved to Tennessee and raised second family). ISAAC TIMMONS married SARAH DAVIS. He came up from Marion and settled in Chesterfield county. 13 children; Casendana, King, Samuel, Mary, Rebecca, Fannie, Elizabeth, Martha, Harriet, Rachel, John, Roxanna, Sarah."
