   Isaac Shields, s/o Daniel Shields and his wife, Mary, was born 15 July 1774 in Ireland. He immigrated about 1790 with his parents and siblings to America. [Note: Isaac nor his parents or siblings probably were born in Northern Ireland. They were said in a Reunion presentation 200 years later to have left from County Cork when they immigrated to America, but no record has yet been found to prove that as a fact. ash]
   
   They settled for a time in Pennsylvania then made their way to Hamilton County, Ohio, where likely Isaac met and married Amy Van Clever, dau/o John Cowenhoven/Covenhoven Van Cleve and Catherine Benham.
   
   Isaac and Amy joined the Shields family when they left Hamilton County, Ohio for Preble County, Ohio. They were the parents of eight known children.
