81. ISAAC CROCKER ISHAM (Joshua, Isaac, John), born in Colchester, Conn. July 28, 1770; died in Shelburne, Vt. July 1, 1829 (by gravestone at Shelburne July 7, 1829); married (date not found) Mary Coleman, who died July 4, 1839(?). The U. S. Census of 1810 shows him living at Williston, Vt. In 1810 he came to Shelburne, locating near the Center and practiced as a physician. When and how he acquired his medical education is unknown, but probably by studying or serving an apprenticeship with some established physician. He was plain and unassuming, but able in his profession and generally successful. He practiced until his death. The U. S. Census of 1800 assigns him six sons and two daughters. The name of the missing son has not been found, nor any record of their births. Their order of birth is unknown. Most of them were born before 1800; Nelson was probably the youngest.
