Imogene's brother Bobby Harold couldn't say "sister" so he said "Sippy" and the name stuck for him and me anyway. Aunt Lyda also referred to Imogene as Sippy. Imogene got polio at age 12 and when I first recall her, she was about 17, and walking in braces holding onto bars around the room. Eventually, she was confined to bed and wheel chair. That didn't stop her from running the business of the family and from having her own business of tinting black and white protraits. Sippy was the most cheerful person you could ever meet. She always had good words and fun ideas for Bobby and me. I was long gone from home when she died in her 50's. My daddy, Fred Addison, who was close to Imogene, said that she was cheerful to the end.
