In the name of God Amen I Humphrey Credell of Bedford County being very sick and Weak but in perfect mind and Memory thanks be to almighty God for the same and calling to ~ mind the uncertainty of this Mortal Life, and that it is Appointed for all men to die when it shall pleas God to call, do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament as followeth, Imprimis.
I give and Bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hopeing through the Merrets and Sufferings of my saviour to receive again at the General Resurrection and my Body to be Buried in a Deasent [Decent] Manner at the descretion of my Executors hereafter named.
Item My desire is that all my Just debts be paid.
Item I give unto my well beloved Wife Mildred Credell all my lands, Negroes, Goods, and Chattels during her Natural life and at her Death to be divided among my Children as she in her lifetime shall Order.
Item for the true performance of this my last Will and Testament I nominate and appoint Messers Charles Cobbs and Joshua Morris my Executors and do hereby ~ Invoke all other Wills made by me and do Declare this to be my last Will and Testament as Witness my hand and seal this Fiftheenth day of March one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty.
