Documents show Benedict's wife's name was Huldah, but her surname is uncertain.

That her surname is Hickox is based on circumstantial evidence -- look at the names of son Ammi's daughters.
1st daughter of son Ammi is Jane Hickok Alford.
5th Daughter of son Ammi is Huldah Ann Alford.

Unfortunately, there are more than one Huldah Hickok or Hickox born about the same time in New England.

One Huldah Hickok was born 1759 in Hartford County, CT. See [[3]]
From Connecticut Town Birth Records, Barbour Collection, Vol I, page 62: Hickok, Huldah, d. John & Lydia, b. 1 Nov 1757 (Vol LR18, pg 25); but this Huldah seems to have married someone else.

A more likely choice is Huldah Hickox, daughter of Benjamin Hickox and Huldah Holmes. Born 22 Jul 1764 in Guilford, Connecticut.
