Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 4, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :
- Parrell, Hugh - born 1758 in Frederick County, Virginia, where he entered service 1776 in Virginia regiment; Pensioned there in 1834 when affidavit filed there by clergyman George Reed & Lemuel Bent; soldier's brother mentioned but not named moved to Ohio. F-S19417, R1879.

- Vol. 2 - DECLARATIONS, SERVICES AND HEIRS OF SOLDIERS. - 1834, March 4th.--Hugh Parrell, George Wright, Henry Denny, Strother G. Settle, Capt. William Cherry, James Nickens, Hezekiah Nickens, Timothy Feeley, George Rice, Henry Knipe. (Note: this record is no doubt referring to Hugh Parrell's Revolutionary War Service Declaration filed in 1834, when he received his pension).
